Ialugen/Ialuset is a range of pharmaceutical preparations base on hyaluronic acid, a natural polymer with large diffusion in several body tissues, particularly the skin and the connective tissues. Hyaluronate has several physiological functions distinguished in direct (structural, humidity-preserving) and receptor-mediated (cell proliferation and metabolic modulation).
It is involved in all the phases of the wound healing, from the initial cell migration, through the inflammatory and granulation phases until the final re-epithelisation. The application of exogenous hyaluronate stimulates the reparation processes in case of difficult-healing wounds and burns. Moreover, the water-binding properties of Ialugen/Ialuset maintain the ideal humid environment necessary for the cicatrisation process. Thanks to the natural origin of sodium hyaluronate, the side effects of Ialugen/Ialuset are very rare.
Ialugen/Ialuset is available in form of cream (tubes and pressurised cans) and gauze pads for topical application.
The wholw range of Ialugen/Ialuset is also available as Ialugen/Ialuset Plus where the recognised healing-stimulating properties of sodium hyaluronate are coupled with the reliable bactericidal activity of silver sulphadiazine. The latter active ingredient is a sulphamidic compound complexed with silver ions (bactericide in vitro) for a wide-spectrum antibacterial effect.
Ialugen/Ialuset Plus is indicated in case of burns of different degrees when an infective status or the risk of its development are present. iIt is available as cream or gauze pads for topical application.
